| I.) From
the Desk of Dr. Fimreite
I was reading a book
called, "Challenging Orthodoxy,"by Warren Levin,
M.D. One of the statements he said was, "I think
physicians in this country are still taught that they fix
people. I don’t believe that doctors fix people, not
even surgeons. Surgeons today do absolutely awesome feats
of technology, but ultimately the surgical procedure ends
with the patient being sewn up, put together and, at that
point, healing has to take place. Either the patient’s
body is going to heal or it is not."
It’s how healthy your body is that will
determine how well you heal. If we take a proactive stance
on our health, we can control our health and healing.
Example: there are germs all around us. We are all exposed
to germs all the time. Why is that some people get sick
and others don’t , especially considering we’re all
exposed to the same germs. Answer, It’s our internal
environment and how well it is equipped to handle the
external environment. What we do to ensure our body
functions at its optimum is crucial to fending off disease
and facilitate healing.
Things you can do: |
- reduce nervous system
interference through
chiropractic
adjustments (The nervous system control
everything
including immunity and healing function)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- handling stress
(physical & mental)
|
|
|
| Health is defined as
"a state of optimal physical mental, and
social well-being, not merely the absence of disease
and infirmity." If we optimize the
health of our body, we are able
to fight disease, infection (bacteria or viral), and
heal quicker. My
goal with these monthly Health Reports is
not only how chiropractic can improve your health, but also tips on becoming
a healthier you.

II.) Top Ten Reasons
I Don't Go to My Chiropractor
| 10.) I
don't have the time. I'm the last person I should be
taking care of. |
| 9.) I can't
afford it. I'd rather wait until I get worst because
drugs and surgery are much more affordable. |
| 8.) My
insurance company doesn't pay for it. And of course we
all know that insurance companies always have my
health as their first concern. |
| 7.) I'm not
hurting right now. I'd much rather wait until I have
lots of pain before I do something about my health. |
| 6.) I have
to see my MD so I'll hold off on chiropractic for now.
After all it's more fun to take drugs or have surgery
than to have the power turned on with a chiropractic
adjustment. |
| 5.) My back
does not hurt. And even though I have other health
problems I don't see how the function of my nervous
system could have an effect on my overall health. |
| 4.) I'm
already so active. Just imagine how much more energy I
might have if my nervous system was free of
subluxations. I might burn out or something. |
| 3.) I like
my level of productivity. If my nerve system is free
of subluxations, and I can get more done, people will
expect more of me. |
| 2.) I've
grown fond of my subluxations. I've gotten used to the
feeling of less energy, less resistance, and less
health. |
| And the number one
reason I Don't Go to My Chiropractor… |
| 1.) I like
existing at less than 100% of my innate potential. |
Chiropractic is a system of
health care that releases a most serious form of stress from
your body: spinal nerve stress (also known as the vertebral
subluxation complex). Spinal nerve stress can affect your
nerves, muscles, internal organs, discs, bones, brain and weakens
your overall health.
A doctor of chiropractic is
specially trained to determine if you have spinal nerve stress
and can release it by using a simple procedure known as a
chiropractic adjustment.
Chiropractic has become the largest drugless health care
profession in the world because it has helped millions of people
recover from sickness, illness and disease without the use of drugs
or surgery.
III.) Infertility/Inability to
Conceive
Below is the story of a California woman who
was told by her MDs that she had almost a zero chance of ever
getting pregnant, even with in vitro procedures, and who became
pregnant after chiropractic adjustments.
Did you hear the one about the woman who went to the
chiropractor and got pregnant?
Really, all Karen Bulch wanted was a little neck-and-shoulders
adjustment.
But a month after wandering into chiropractor Mark Kimes' Salina
office, the 44-year-old Monterey woman was with child, something
she had unsuccessfully been trying to accomplish for 4 ½ years.
Kimes told her it might happen. And if it did, he said it would
be within the first few months.
Kimes noticed a subluxation - essentially, that's chiropractic
for blockage - in Bulch's lower back. He wasn't sure, but Kimes
thought he just might be able to tweak the subluxation to the
point of reproduction. "I've been in practice for 12 years
and I've seen it happen with many women," he said. (2) A
spine tingling affair. The Monterey County Herald. March 1998,
Section D, page 1.
IV.)
Want to live to be over a hundred?
With more people living past 100 researchers are
now able to study them in greater numbers and they're finding
interesting things. "Those who make it close to the 100
mark and beyond are the type who avoid hospitals and doctors
whenever possible. When ill, they tend to be optimistic about
recovery…[they have generally] good health habits. Most avoid
smoking, watch their weight and exercise….their most common
characteristic is a feisty spirit and a sense of independence.
"According to researcher Belle Boone Beard author of
'Centenarians' they have 'a tried and true individuality,
tempered, like steel, under the heat and pressure of life over
time.'
Centenarians also have been practicing preventive medicine all
of their lives. Amazing as it sounds the majority studied by
Beard had never seen a doctor. Thus, they avoided the iatrogenic
(doctor-induced) diseases, accidents and overmedication that
plague so many of the elderly."

V.) Chiropractic and Sports
Chiropractic can improve your
athletic ability by helping to keep you healthy and in top form,
and by keeping minor injuries from becoming major ones.
That's why you'll find chiropractors as "team doctors"
for professional, college, high school, junior high, and
elementary school football, basketball, baseball, ice-hockey,
handball, rugby, soccer, running and weightlifting teams. That's
also why chiropractic has been used by champions: Tim
Witherspoon, Ken Norton and Evander Holyfield of boxing; Michael
Jordon and Charles Barkley of basketball; Ivan Lendl, Martina
Navratilova and John McEnroe of tennis; Marcello Angelini and
Daniela Buson of ballet; plus world-world-class bikers, racers,
golfers and even racing car drivers. In all these sports
chiropractors help keep the athlete on the field and help stop
minor injuries from becoming major ones without the use of drugs
or surgery.
VI.) Words of Wisdom
Four habits of life - balanced
living, with work, play and rest in proportion; living in the
present; accepting reality; directing one's energies with useful
purpose. Austen Fox Riggs (1876-1940)
In Accordance With Research
Showing That Laughter Is Good For Health We Offer The Following story
This is from an actual
conversation as recorded by the dispatcher.
A man calls a hospital. He is beside himself with anxiety:
"My wife is having a baby and we don't know what to
do," he yells into the phone.
"Is this her first child?" asks the doctor.
"No you idiot, this is her husband."
