CHICAGO, IL – Whether it’s realized or not, most people today have
already experienced some degree of trauma to their spine. The effects of
a car accident, a difficult birth, a childhood injury, or even a slip on
the ice can remain dormant for months or even years later – until
suddenly an unexpected and excruciating pain arises.
According to Dr. Gordon K. Fimreite from Fimreite Chiropractic, a
trip to the chiropractor is more beneficial than a trip to the medicine
cabinet.
"If you have an ache, pain, or discomfort, taking a pill to make
the symptoms go away is giving ground," said Dr. Fimreite.
"The tragedy is that a lot of people keep taking anti-inflammatory and pain medication for conditions that are easily
corrected with chiropractic care."
"We have to take a more critical look at taking pain relievers
because although they’re covering the pain, they actually create
problems by putting more strain on the joints, delaying the healing time
and perhaps even causing arthritis," adding Dr. Fimreite. "At
the expense of getting some pain relief, we’re seeing the condition
worsen."
"In articles that I’ve read, there are more out-patient office
calls to chiropractors and alternative health care practitioners in the
U.S. than there are with medical doctors," said Dr. Fimreite citing the 1993 Eisenberg Study. "There are also
studies going on investigating chiropractic in relationship to
headaches, menstrual cramps, asthma, and childhood ear infections."
The use of proper chiropractic techniques practiced at Dr. Fimreite’s
office in Chicago can also help relieve other nuisances, such as sinus
trouble, ear infections, and stomach and respiratory ailments, the
doctor said.
"We’re finding a shift in health care – away from
disease-orientated care to wellness care and chiropractic fits well into
the wellness spectrum," said Dr. Fimreite. "Chiropractic is so
far reaching with its benefits. For years, the ideal patient was someone
who had back pain, but it’s well beyond that now."
"We believe in maximizing the body’s ability to heal and mend
itself," said Dr. Fimreite. "Interferences with the nervous
system can be resolved with chiropractic adjustments. Because the
nervous system has such a dramatic impact on the whole body, it’ll be
years before we realize why chiropractic works so effectively."
The clinic also offers educational seminars, workshops, and
screenings. Inquiries about
chiropractic are always welcome. Call Dr. Fimreite at (708) 352-3352 or
