 Stress...

Between 75 - 90% of all physical ailments are the result of mental stress factors (emotional or spiritual).1 Stress is a major factor in today's society. Although it can be good, it also can be very destructive especially if our body can't manage it properly.

Stress expert Hans Selye, M.D. says: "No one can live without experiencing some degree of stress all the time...It is not even necessarily bad for you; it is also the spice of life, for any emotion, any activity causes stress. But, of course, your system must be prepared to take it. The same stress which makes one person sick can be an invigorating experience for another." 2

Many diseases are actually not so much the lack of some external agent (an infection or an intoxication) as they are the consequences of the body’s inability to adequately adapt. 3  This can result in the muscles to become tight & sore, your energy drained, which can make your body more susceptible to colds, infections, ulcers, digestive troubles, high blood pressure, asthma, arthritis, heart diseases, and premature aging. Unresolved stress can take the vitality and health from life itself.

Vertebral subluxation complex or subluxations are one of the biggest signals our body gives us that stress is affecting us physically. Tight muscles, nerve irritation, and soft tissue problems are often the results of subluxations. Emotional and physical stress may in fact stem from vertebral subluxation complex. Studies have shown that chiropractic has shown to reduce anxiety levels. 4 Chiropractic is the only profession that addresses and corrects vertebral subluxation complex.
