| To
lose weight, most diets require an intake of 1500 calories. 1500
calories is not enough for the average person to sustain a normal
metabolism - in other words it's not enough food to survive. You
need calories to function and more importantly you need those calories
to exercise. The key to dieting is decreasing fat in your
diet and increasing fresh fruits and vegetables AND exercising
to increase lean muscle.
Because
your body isn't getting enough fuel (food), it goes into a survival
situation. Your body literally breaks itself down (catabolism).
The muscles are the first source it draws from - not fat. Your
body is trying to store fat because of the higher calories it can draw
from further in starvation. By dieting you're starving yourself,
and therefore naturally you crave high calorie foods such as fats,
sugars, etc.
Diets
work against your body's own physiology. As a result, you lose
muscle and store more fat. Therefore it's almost impossible
to stick to the diet. Most people end up putting the weight back
on in the end.
The
Key to losing weight and increasing lean muscle mass is:
- Exercise!
- Eat Plenty of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
(God-made food) and stay away man-made food.
- Eat enough good foods to have the energy to
exercise
- Drink at least 8 glasses of Pure Water
Everyday (not carbonated beverages, coffee, juices, etc.)
